1900s Chandeliers Restoration

While our primary focus is the custom production of crystal chandeliers, we occasionally take on exceptional renovation projects.

Restoring antique chandeliers is often even more demanding than crafting new ones. It requires meticulous work to revive original crystal and metal components, replace outdated electrical wiring, and recreate missing parts to match the existing design with absolute precision.

Only a handful of companies worldwide possess the expertise and craftsmanship required for such intricate restoration work. That’s why we were entrusted with the renovation of original chandeliers dating back to 1900 and 1907—masterpieces originally made in Vienna, designed to hold candles rather than electric bulbs. These pieces were retrofitted with wiring in the 1950s, and now, over a century after their creation, they’ve undergone several months of careful restoration by our team.

The chandeliers were now brought to their former glory by our team—indistinguishable from new creations, yet preserving every detail of their historical charm.

Our team not only knows how to manufacture beautiful new chandeliers but we also take on the challenges of renovating old chandeliers and bringing them back to their former glory.

This chandelier from a church in Vidin was sent to us for a complete renovation and renovated, it now proudly adorns the church again.

Our team was chosen to manufacture four special gilded Maria Theresa chandeliers in the size of 220x350cm with 132 lights, along with other Maria Theresa chandeliers in the dimensions of 100x110cm with 25 lights, and 69x59cm with 13 lights. Our team also manufactured 100 accompanying wall lamps for this important project of the Cathedral of St. Barnabas in Cyprus.

The chandeliers were installed by our team before the inauguration ceremony and at the end of December, the church was visited by Pope Francis himself.

Our company was selected to manufacture many chandeliers and wall lamps in a specific Art Deco style to fit a historical space in the town of Loket.

This is what the mayor of the town had to say about the installation of our chandeliers:

This weekend, the final assembly of chandeliers took place in the premises of the Hall, both in the foyer and in the corridors, as well as in the main hall. It may not sound like it in the photos, but they are really beautiful. The chandeliers were manufactured and supplied by the Czech company @Wranovsky Crystal s. R. O., Which is one of the most important Czech companies in this field and supplies custom chandeliers all over the world.

And we are equally delighted to be able to manufacture the chandeliers in these beautiful premises.

Chateau Peruc

Our team was honored to manufacture different sizes of primarily Maria Theresa and other chandeliers into the rococo chateau Peruc in the Czech Republic, just about 120km from our own factory.

The manufactured chandeliers, the most important which is a large and impressive staircase chandelier, have been manufactured with the utmost care to represent the beautiful interior of the newly reconstructed chateau.

North Bohemian Museum

We’ve had the honor to design and install unique blue crystal chandeliers into a newly reconstructed North Bohemian Museum in Liberec in the Czech Republic, just about 20km from our factory in Turnov.

This chandelier was created as a philosophical symbol of humanity's lifelong effort to fly to the heavens and attain the unattainable. That's why it's called Awake The Stars. It features the highest quality crystal parts in a special technique of two crystal layers of clear and blue color intertwining, and thus creating a unique visual interpretation.

The chandeliers beautifully complement the newly reconstructed interior of the museum and we’re proud we could design these chandeliers for this beautiful museum in our own region.

Working with our partners in Indonesia, we have completed a project of a large customised chandelier from our Ricamente Decorado collection in the dimensions of two by three meters.

The goal of the customization was to add crystal crown and additional decoration, and primarily create a rich chandelier basket given the fact that the chandelier is suspended very high up in the interior of the large mosque.

We’ve had the honour to design, manufacture and install these beautiful brass and crystal chandeliers for this common hall in Indonesia.

The hall is now decorated with one large brass chandelier in the dimensions of 150x140 cm with 24+8 arms in two levels and is accompanied by four smaller chandeliers in the dimensions of 100x110cm with 8+4 arms on two levels as well.

This wonderful crystal chandelier called Ricamente Decorado connects the classical and original look with timeless elements. The decoration is very rich in sense of trimmings and lights and could even be a very good fit for a royal palace. Part of this chandelier is 87 light bulbs placed in hand-made bowls.

The crystal trimmings reflect the colors of the light into every corner of the spectacular place. This crystal chandelier is undoubtedly a refined accessory, which emphasizes the majesty and beauty of the luxurious interior of this Russian mosque.

St. Nicholas Church

Another project brought us to one of the most famous baroque churches in Prague. For the St. Nicholas church, which is located on the Old Town Square, we had to refurbish an antique crystal chandelier of 4.5m diameter.

This renovation was very challenging due to the huge size of the chandelier (weight 1.5 tons) as well as the fact that not the whole chandelier could be taken in individual parts. We started renovation by taking apart all the crystal parts and dismantling other pieces which were taken to our company.

This is where the thorough cleaning, renovation, and damaged parts or possibly missing pieces replacement took place. We also replaced the entire substandard electrical wiring of the chandelier. The next step was the installation which contains putting chandelier together and re-polishing all decorative parts. With the assistance of experienced mountain climbers, who ensure the safe working conditions in highs, this magnificent chandelier will soon be hanging in its place.

St. Catherine Church

Our company Wranovsky had the opportunity to renovate unique antique chandelier from St. Catherine Church, which is situated in Vysoké nad Jizerou. Pastor asked us to renovate all the parts of this historical unique piece. Since some of the parts of the chandelier were not possible to use anymore, we have provided complete renovation during which we perfectly cleaned and replaced all the damaged parts. Crystal glass arms with twisted relief were partly replaced by replicas, as well as the rich decoration of the chandelier.

Our main goal was to fulfill the requirements of our client in order that the final appearance of the chandelier was as close to the original as possible. The exceptional attribute of crystal chandelier was the absence of wiring and our company kept it that way and at the end of the installation of the chandelier to its sacred place, Pastor could put the candles there himself.

Crystal chandelier with twenty-four glass arms and decorative rotative details aptly fits into the hallowed space of the glorious St. Catherine church. In all its glory it welcomes visitors of the church by its reflections and magical sparkles once again.

For the French Theatre in Orleans, our team Wranovsky created special replicas of old and historic lighting according to the specification of the theatre. Our meticulous approach gave birth to these beautiful lightings that perfectly fit the interior of the Orleans theatre.

Recently we were involved in several interesting projects, renovating existing antique crystal chandeliers. We renovated a beautiful chandelier (dimensions 100 x 155cm) in Pistov near Marianske Lazne town (famous spa destination in the Czech Republic).

This chandelier is very unique, so ours and our client’s intent was to preserve the original appearance of this crystal chandelier. The chandelier was in a very bad condition and it was necessary to completely take apart to individual parts in order to perform very thorough cleaning. We also completely replaced the electrical wiring of the chandelier with a new safer one. The individual crystal and metal parts have been thoroughly cleaned; damaged parts were replaced with new ones which were selected specifically to preserve the authenticity of the original pieces.

The newly renovated chandelier is now even more beautiful and shiny, which lights up the perfectly wonderful interior of the church and puts the finishing touches to the breath-taking atmosphere. We are very happy we managed to keep the original soul of the antique chandelier and contribute to the beauty of the sacred place.

A wonderful crystal chandelier with 36 arms replaced a previous chandelier which was in the church until now. The previous chandelier was severely damaged and because the renovation would be far too costly, the clients decided to replace the old one with a new one. The chandelier JWZ 116362101 was chosen to fit into this interior and it tastefully complements the ambiance of the place. As a result, the interior of the church is once again complete with the dignified appearance that it really deserves.

Our company Wranovsky Crystal is dealing not only with the production of exclusive crystal chandeliers but is also renovating unique antique chandeliers, especially those located in temples and churches.

Renovation of antique chandeliers includes very sophisticated and perfectly performed work such as cleaning of individual parts, recheck of electrical functionality, while we are doing everything in order to reach the best results so the renovated antique chandeliers appeal with the new, but in the same way still with its historical impression. A similar situation was also with the unique ancient chandelier with glass arms from the church of St. Nicolas in Turnov. Cathedral of St. Nicolas is the oldest church in the heart of the town of Turnov and originates from the 14th century. Its artistic construction switched from originally gothic to renaissance and after the last reconstruction and following renovation it represents baroque art direction.

During the renovation of the chandelier, we cleaned each and every part of this historical masterpiece, which adorned its large size premises of the church for many years. While renovating our company Wranovsky Crystal borrowed the crystal chandelier, which is made of innumerable range of hand-bonded chains. It is also special thanks to its original piked design. After the full renovation of the antique chandelier, we have installed it so this historical masterpiece could return to its place, where it will further fulfill its role in the sacred verge of the church.

On the 22.12.2013, a ceremonial sanctification of the renovated church in Novo Selo (old town in the North West Bulgaria) was held. We are very proud to have been the suppliers of two beautiful crystal chandeliers installed in the renovated church. The traditional interior of the Bulgarian church was made complete with our two crystal chandeliers that are now spreading light to all corners of the church and warming up the atmosphere of the church.
